Innovation in Agriculture: Harnessing the Power of Informationization
Bringing together distinguished experts, scholars, and researchers from over 10 countries, IAIC 2018 successfully concluded in Beijing, China. This conference served as a platform for sharing valuable insights and fostering discussions on key topics such as supply chain dynamics, industrial agriculture, and agribusiness.
In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, effective supply chain management plays a pivotal role. With supply chains growing increasingly complex and interdependent, decision-makers are constantly seeking ways to maintain their competitive edge. To address these pressing concerns, experts, scholars, and researchers from China, Finland, Norway, and other countries were invited to engage in fruitful discussions and drive positive change for the future of agriculture.
Innovation is paramount when it comes to agriculture. Dr. Wang Maohua, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), delivered a captivating keynote speech on “The Innovative Development of Informationization in Agriculture.” Access to accurate data empowers agribusiness decision-makers to adapt to market changes and thrive in a dynamic industry.
Furthermore, Prof. SC Lenny Koh, Chair Professor of Operation Management at Sheffield University, United Kingdom, shed light on the significance of the agrifood system, elucidating the current challenges and future opportunities it presents. Prof. Wee Liang Tan, Associate Professor of Strategic Management at Singapore Management University, emphasized the hurdles faced in developing new agri-tech ventures that can provide safe food. Addressing these challenges is crucial to ensuring sustainable agricultural services can meet the growing global food demand efficiently.
The second day of the conference provided a platform for business owners, professors, and students from around the world to present their research and insights on diverse topics, including Agriculture Technology, Agriculture Globalization and Cross-border E-commerce, Agriculture Business Operation, and International Agriculture Festivals.
IAIC 2018 was jointly organized by the International Association for Agricultural Sustainability, the Asia Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institutions (APAARI), and Zhongnong Futong. We express our heartfelt gratitude to all esteemed speakers and participants who contributed to the Annual International Agriculture Innovation Conference (IAIC), addressing the challenges faced by the agricultural industry. It is our sincere hope that the shared insights will empower agricultural decision-makers to effectively address industry issues and pave the way for a brighter future.
