Opening a New Chapter for Sustainable Agriculture Development: Hybrid Event Featuring Research Innovation
The 7th International Agricultural Innovation Conference (IAIC 2022) was successfully held from 2nd to 3rd September 2022 as a hybrid event for the first time since 2016, with over 600 participants from 50 different countries and regions. The aim of the conference was to gather upstream and downstream enterprises related to agriculture, promote industrial agglomeration and integrated development, and deepen the high-quality exchange results of industry-academia combination.
The conference kicked off with a speech from Prof. Tzong-Ru Lee, Chairman of the International Association for Agricultural Sustainability (IAAS), who thanked the co-organizers and the scholars, experts, and researchers from around the world who participated in the conference. The event had five main themes, including the impact of climate change on agriculture, international agricultural organizations in developing countries, IP rights of agricultural science, fermentation science, and the application of artificial intelligence in agricultural digital twins.
23 scholars and experts from the world’s five continents were invited to extend the topics in their respective fields of specialization. International agricultural organizations, such as CGIAR, ICID, CORAF, FARA, IFNH, FANRPAN, VAAS, NIPM, SEWA, and TAP, were also invited to present papers and discuss the latest trends and challenges in the field.
In addition to the conference, a delegation of family business representatives from Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, and other places led by Dr. Tan Wee Liang, Vice Chairman of the International Association for Agricultural Sustainability, visited France to learn how family-owned agribusinesses in France are coping with the challenges of sustainability and climate change and to explore potential collaborations and opportunities during the mission trip. The local tour in France was arranged and coordinated by five co-organizers: EDHEC Business School Family Business Centre, UniLaSalle, University of Bordeaux, Bordeaux Sciences Agro, and The Alliance Agri Avenir Chair.
The Annual International Agriculture Innovation Conference (IAIC) 2022 was successfully organized by the International Association for Agricultural Sustainability (IAAS), University of Bordeaux, and AGRO SUP Dijon. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the esteemed speakers and participants who made valuable contributions to IAIC 2022. Your insights and expertise have provided a foundation for addressing key industry challenges and creating a path towards a promising future. We are confident that the knowledge shared during the conference will empower agricultural decision-makers to make informed choices and drive positive change in the agricultural sector.
